Top 5 Most Spectacular London Fireworks Displays

London celebrates Guy Fawkes Night every year on the 5th November. This is the day that Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament in a terrorist attack but was foiled. On the weekend closest to the 5th, there are a number of free or ticketed events to catch a glimpse of some amazing London fireworks displays.

North London: Alexandra Palace

One of the most famous and iconic firework displays in London, Alexandra Palace in North London also hosts a German Beer Festival and ice rink. There is a nearby train station and then a 15-minute walk or you can get the underground to Wood Green and then the W3 bus up to Ally Pally.

South-East London: Blackheath

London’s largest free fireworks display based on the large heath at Blackheath. It gets very busy so do get there early and avoid driving as parking in a nightmare. Instead get the train to Blackheath station and then a short walk up to the ’health.

Central London: Southwark

If you are only in London for a few days why not try at Southwark park. It has heaps of bars to enjoy alongside the fireworks. Free to residents but a small fee to those not living in Southwark. Nearest stations are Canada Water or Bermondsey.

South-West London: Wimbledon

Not just home to the tennis championship, but a huge funfair and fireworks display for the whole family to enjoy in Wimbledon Park. Nearest train and tube station is Wimbledon and is a 8-minute walk or Southfields station is a tad closer.

East London: Victoria Park

Victoria Park has a large free fireworks display with a food market beforehand, to enjoy some mulled wine in the cold! The nearest station is Mile End and is a good 15-minute walk away.
